Next weekend, April 20-21, is the 14th annual Great Gardens and Landscaping Symposium at the beautiful and historic Woodstock Inn in Woodstock, Vermont.
Gardening enthusiasts from all around New England and beyond will get to hear five info-packed lectures led by nationally and regionally renowned professionals in their fields. The Symposium always draws a sell-out crowd.
The Gardener's Marketplace
A highlight of the event is the Gardener's Marketplace where you'll find 15 specialty plant vendors, artisans, and purveyors of quality gardening gifts and products.
And that's just where I will be on Friday and Saturday with my pressed flower art, cards and bookmarks. (You don't have to be registered for the symposium to visit the Marketplace and spend some time in this fabulous New England Inn.)
What better event at which to exhibit and sell my pressed flower art than one attended by gardeners and flower lovers?
In addition to original designs, pressed flower card, flower bookmarks, and microfleurs (microwave flower presses), are usually popular at the event. Gardeners love discovering that they can press flowers in just seconds and minutes in a microwave.
The real bonus for me is that I get to listen to the presentations and lectures given by the pros in the field of gardening and landscaping. I always leave inspired and energized to begin a new season of gardening.
In prep for the weekend and the imminent summertime, here's a step-by-step guide of how to press flowers.
