The view outside my studio windows yesterday captured my attention for a long time. Though the temperature was in the single digits, the sun was bright and barely a cloud in the sky. I found myself studying (for what seemed hours) the long, blue, linear patterns on the snow created by tree shadows and the tree branches against the blue sky .
An incredible desire came over me, for just a fleeting moment, to put my pressed flowers away and go purchase canvas and paints and recreate the magnificent colors and shadows. The desire passed and I went back to my pressed flower art, knowing far more talented artists than myself will capture the beauty of winter.
I just love Vermont...in all seasons!
